At The Antipodean Sommelier, we specialise in sourcing and creating wines that reflect the landscapes they come from and the people behind them. From New Zealand’s iconic Marlborough and Central Otago to Australia’s Barossa and Margaret River, our wines are rooted in place, crafted with purpose, and selected for both quality and approachability.
What began as a weekend side project — two wine enthusiasts sharing boutique New Zealand wines with UK festival crowds — has grown into an international business built on trust, taste, and connection. Founded by Tony Wellings and James Leary, we bring together decades of industry experience, a deep respect for New World winemaking, and a commitment to personal service.
We proudly support and stock independent retailers, never supermarkets, ensuring that our wines are available in spaces that value the stories behind each bottle and the connection with the people who craft them.
